Luanda- The company Angola LNG will collect, process and market each year, about 5.2 million tons of liquefied natural gas, propane, butane and condensate from its manufacturing facilities in the municipality of Soyo (Zaire).
Angola LNG is one of the most modern processing factories of liquefied natural gas (LNG), in the world, and represents one of the largest investments (10 billion dollars), about 1 trillion Kwanzas, ever made within Angolan oil and gas industry, according to a note delivered today (Wednesday) to Angop.
Historically, the associated gas has been flared or injected into the reservoirs of crude oil. The constitution of Angola LNG projects a solution to reduce carbon emissions and to create a new source of clean energy.
According to the document, Angola LNG’s shareholders are Sonangol (22.8%), Chevron (36.4%), BP (13.6%), ENI (13.6%) and Total (13.6%).
With a dedicated fleet of seven ships and three LNG tank loading docks (LNG, liquid and compressed butane), the Angola LNG’s mission is to contribute to the elimination of gas flaring, to provide clean and reliable energy to customers and to profit from the investment made.
The Republic of Angola is the second largest producer of oil in Sub-Saharan Africa.
